(GBPI) successfully hosted the National Standard Revision Meeting for General Rules for Plastic Composite Films and Bags for Packaging, a critical initiative organized by SAC/TC48/SC1 (Subcommittee for Plastic Daily-Use Products under the National Technical Committee for Plastic Products). This high-profile event brought together over 50 experts, corporate representatives, and technical leaders from across China to refine and modernize the national standard GB/T 21302-2007, which has governed the industry for nearly two decades.    Revolutionizing an 18-Year-Old Standard   The revision, mandated under China’s 2024 Sixth Batch of Recommended National Standards (Plan No.: 20242730-T-607), responds to seismic shifts in packaging technology, safety requirements, and sustainability imperatives. Since the original standard’s implementation in 2007, the industry has undergone three transformative structural changes:   1. Technological Leap: Innovations like co-extrusion composites, digital printing, high-barrier coatings, and solvent-free bonding have revolutionized production. Modified polyolefins and single-material structures now dominate, replacing traditional multi-layer designs.   2. Enhanced Safety Protocols: Stricter limits on solvent residues and migrant substances, aligned with global food safety standards (e.g., EU and FDA regulations), demand advanced testing methodologies.   3. A particular highlight of the visit was GBPI Guangzhou Biaoji’s digital platform. As a key feature of the tour, the platform enables IoT connectivity for instruments, remote operation, and serves as an educational platform for students to learn instrument operation. Dean Chen and his team gained in-depth insights into our technology, instruments, and digital systems, expressing high appreciation for GBPI Guangzhou Biaoji’s achievements in packaging testing instruments and digital innovation. They also engaged in in-depth discussions with our technical staff.   Subsequently, under General Manager Zhou’s guidance, the delegation visited our Honor Wall. Our representatives introduced GBPI Guangzhou Biaoji’s CNAS laboratory accreditation, CMA certification for inspection and testing institutions, and its recognition as a National Specialized and New "Little Giant" Enterprise and a National Standard Material Development Unit. These accolades and distinctions exemplify the company’s long-term investment and outstanding achievements in technological research and development, product innovation, and standardization.   GBPI Guangzhou Biaoji has consistently strived to establish strong collaborative relationships with universities and research institutions. From June 14 to June 16, 2024, the 2024 China Packaging Industry-University-Research Collaborative Innovation Conference with the theme of "Promoting Collaborative Innovation of Packaging Industry-University-Research and Accelerating Green and Low-carbon Transformation and Development" was successfully held in Hangzhou. The conference conducted extensive and in-depth exchanges and discussions on the latest research results and industry trends in packaging and related fields. GBPI was very honored to be invited to participate. Mr. Zhou, the general manager of the company, took the stage to introduce the factors affecting beverage preservation and the barrier performance test methods to the participants with the theme of "The Impact of Barrier Performance of Beverage Packaging on Freshness". At the same time, he shared the latest results of our company's many major innovative products and transmittance testing technology.   Also invited to participate were a large number of well-known domestic companies such as Wahaha, JD.com, SF Express, Mengniu, Yili, Plus, Wuliangye, and Haishun Group. They discussed with GBPI on packaging innovation testing, cutting-edge technology methods, etc., and worked together to promote the high-quality development of the packaging industry.   Mr. Zhou also introduced GBPI's test cases, such as high barrier composite film pressure differential oxygen permeability test, bottle carbon dioxide permeability test, aluminum plastic film oxygen permeability test (thickness 0.1mm) and coffee capsule oxygen permeability test solutions. With professional knowledge, rich test cases, and a large number of customer testimonials, GBPI won high attention and enthusiastic response. GBPI is also the first unit in the Asia-Pacific region to develop standard materials for film air permeability, oxygen permeability, and moisture permeability.
